Advice & Regulation
Does Finaap give financial or debt advice?
No. Finaap does not provide financial advice, debt counselling, or recommendations. All information shown is for awareness only. Any decisions or actions remain the responsibility of the user.
Is Finaap a debt management or consolidation service?
No. Finaap does not contact creditors, negotiate payments, or track debts on your behalf. Users may choose to track debts and set reminders for themselves.
Is Finaap regulated by the FCA?
Finaap itself is not FCA regulated. Where regulated services are involved, such as open banking or credit data, these are provided by FCA authorised partners whose permissions we rely on.
How does Finaap make money?
Finaap operates on a subscription model for access to its software platform.
Bank Connections & Data
Can Finaap access my bank account?
Only if you choose to connect it. Bank connections are provided through FCA authorised open banking partners. Finaap receives read only data and cannot move money or initiate payments.
Does Finaap hold my money or act like a bank?
No. Finaap does not hold, store, or control customer funds and does not issue electronic money.
Can I see my credit report on Finaap?
Yes, where available, credit information is provided through authorised credit reference partners such as Experian or Equifax. Finaap displays this information without interpretation or recommendation.
Tax & HMRC
Does Finaap calculate my tax for me?
Finaap helps you organise income and expenses so you can understand your position better. It provides estimates for Income Tax and National Insurance based on the information you enter. Any tax insights shown are informational only.
Can I use Finaap for Self Assessment or MTD?
Finaap can help you prepare by keeping your records organised and easier to review. It does not file returns or act as a replacement for accounting or HMRC systems.
Is Finaap connected to HMRC?
Finaap integrates with HMRC's Making Tax Digital (MTD) API. When you authorize the connection, you can view your tax obligations, calculations, and submission status. Finaap does not submit returns on your behalf.
What is Making Tax Digital (MTD)?
Making Tax Digital is HMRC's system for digital tax reporting. Finaap is an HMRC-recognised software provider that can help you view your MTD obligations and tax information.
Payments & Subscriptions
How do I pay for Finaap?
Payments are processed securely via Stripe. You can pay using credit or debit cards. All prices are in British Pounds (GBP) and include VAT where applicable.
Is there a free trial?
Yes, new users get a 30-day free trial to explore all features. No card required to start.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, you can cancel anytime. Your subscription remains active until the end of your current billing period. Refunds are handled in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

What are referral or reward points?

We highlight free, FCA-authorised debt advice services. Many are charities that provide help at no cost. We also list regulated debt management companies for comparison.
Does Finaap earn money from debt adviser referrals?
No. We provide the directory as a helpful resource. We do not earn commission from connecting you with debt advisers.
